Orange Blossom

The Orange Blossom is a classic Prohibition-era cocktail that was popular because the orange juice masked the off flavors of low quality gin produced at the time The flavor is orange juice with just a hint of gin.

This simple “gin and juice” concoction was a hit among the scores of illegal drinkers during the years of prohibition. The most prevalent version is simply gin, orange juice with the optional addition of simple syrup. An alternate version comes to us by means of the Waldorf-Astoria hotel bar and consists of gin, orange juice and Italian vermouth in equal parts.

Ingredients

  • 40 ml Husk Ink Gin
  • 20 ml Cointreau
  • 30 ml Orange Juice
  • 10 ml Lime Juice

Method

  1. Add ingredients to shaker
  2. Shake well
  3. Double strain into a coupe
